Biodiversity Monica/6A

Biodiversity, short for biological diversity, is the term used to describe the variety of life found on earth and all of natural processes. This includes ecosystem, genetic and cultural diversity, and the connections between these and all species. Biodiversity, short for biological diversity, is the term used to describe the variety of life found on earth and all of natural processes. This includes ecosystem, genetic and cultural diversity, and the connections between these and all species.

What is ecosystem? An ecosystem is a community of living organisms like plants animal and microbes. Like their environment things like air, water and mineral soil An ecosystem is a community of living organisms like plants animal and microbes. Like their environment things like air, water and mineral soil An ecosystem includes all of the living things (plants, animals and organisms) in a given area, interacting with each other, and also with their non- living environments (weather, earth, sun, soil, climate, atmosphere). An ecosystem includes all of the living things (plants, animals and organisms) in a given area, interacting with each other, and also with their non- living environments (weather, earth, sun, soil, climate, atmosphere).

What are the component of ecosystem Biotic components: the living Biotic components: the living Biotic components of an ecosystem are the living things, which includes plants, animal and microbes. Abiotic components: the non- living Abiotic components: the non- living Non-living features of the ecosystem that the living organism that depend on.

Grasslands ecosystem

What is grassland? Grasslands are wide expanses of land filled with low growing plants such as grasses and wildflowers. The amount of rain is not enough to grow tall trees and produce a forest, but it is enough to not form a desert. The temperate grasslands have seasons including a hot summer and a cold winter. Animal that lives in the grasslands A variety of animals live in the grasslands. These include prairie dogs, wolves, turkeys, eagles, weasels, bobcats, foxes, and geese. A lot of smaller animals hide down in the grasses such as snakes, mice, and rabbits.

The component in grasslands Abiotic: Abiotic: Abiotic Factors of a Temperate Grassland -the sun -rocks and soil -water from streams -wind -rain -wildfires -heat or cold

The components in grassland Biotic: Biotic: Biotic Factors of a Temperate Grassland -zebras -lions -prairie dog -ostrich -buffalo -wildflowers -shrubs -little trees -able to grow wheat and corn -long tall grass

The food web

The explanation of the food chain The producer is the grass The producer is the grass The primary consumer is the grass hopper and the rat. The primary consumer is the grass hopper and the rat. the secondary consumer is the lizard, rabbit and snake the secondary consumer is the lizard, rabbit and snake The last consumer (predator)is the hawk bird The last consumer (predator)is the hawk bird

The interdependent happen in the grasslands The bees pollinate on flowers use the pollen to make more flowers and food for the bees to live off of. The plover picks meat out of crocodile’s teeth keeping them clean and free from any infection. A crocodile invites plovers into its mouth but not to eat them.
