4. Example:  Step 1: Distributive 4 ( 2r - 8) = 1/7 ( 49r + 70 ) (4)(2r) + (4)(-8) = (1/7)(49r) + (1/7)(70) 8r + - 32 = 7r + 10

5. Step 2: Add or subtract variables  8r - 32 - 7r = 7r + 10 - 7r r - 32 = 10

6. Step #3: Add constant from both sides  r - 32 + 32 = 10 + 32 r = 42
