Main Screen

Dimensioning Tool Drawing Tools Line Selection 3D Object Selection Building tools Changing Views Icons Browser Drop Menu New Design

Line Select Icons  Select Lines: Used when selecting lines and manipulating work  Select Constraints: Used when working with dimensions on drawing

3D Image Select Icons  Select Edges: Used to select an edge of a 3D object  Select Faces: Used to select a face of a 3D object  Select Part: Used to select the entire part

Drawing Icons  Delete Line Segment: Deletes Lines  Constraints Separation: Determines distance between to objects.  Constraints Size: Determines the length of a line

Building a 3D Object (Features)  Extrude Profile: Uses a closed geometric shape to create solid objects by adding or subtracting material.  Project Profile: Takes a closed geometric shape and projects it through a solid object, by adding or subtracting material.

Extruding Profile  Using a closed geometric shape, you can add material around a workplane to build up 3D objects.  Or remove sections of a 3D object

Project Profile  Using a closed geometric shape, you can add or subtract material around a workplane  Much more limiting than extrusion feature

Modifying 3D Objects  Bend Edge: Rounds corners  Chamfer edges: Cuts off corners  Hollow/Shell Objects: Hollows out a solid object

Manipulating Object  Wire Frame: Allows you to see only the frame work of the design.  Transparent: Allows you to see only the design as if you see through it.  Shaded/Enhanced: Allows you to see it as a solid.

Manipulating Object  View Trimetric (also “shift-T”): View Object at an angle to see it in 3D.  View Workplane: (also “shift-W”): View object wit workplane facing you.

Changing Views  Autoscale “shift A”: Returns the design to optimal viewing.  Zoom In: Needs veiwing box to be created.  Zoom Out: Just needs to be selected to use Zoom in Zoom Out Autoscale

Browsers Selecting Drawing Design Surfaces Building and modifying 3D objects Selecting and working with parts

Starting a New Sketch Click on “Select Faces” and highlight the face of the object That you want to draw on. Then “Right Click /or go to “workplane Drop menu and choose “New Sketch”

Shelling an Object Click on “Select Faces” and highlight the face of the object that you want to make hollow. Then select the “shell Solids” icon and Choose the “offset” Shell Objects Icon

Rounding Feature 1) Select the edges you want to manipulate 2) Select the “rounding Feature” 3)Choose radius of the curve Rounding Feature

Chamfer Feature 1) Select the edges you want to manipulate 2) Select the “Chamfer Feature” 3)Choose “Set Back” of the angle Chamfer Feature

Editing a Feature Go to Browser drop down menu and select “Features Browser”. Right click Right Click on feature to be edited Original feature box will appear

Photo Albums Start a Photo AlbumSelect “New Image” Open the design Choose Design Go to drop down Menu and select Materials Drag and Drop bags of Color over design

Assembly Open new design Add Component Continue adding components and orientating them.

Center Axes Select the outer face of the axle rod and the inside wall of the axle hole. Select “Center Axes” Use “select part” icon to move different parts

Align Faces Select the face of the end of the axle and the outer face of the wheel. Select “Align” Done!
