Team Work - Kuwait Branch5 A- Question1 (a) Specific title and aim(s) for the project (15 marks) –(i) Specific title: (3 Marks) Please provide a title for your project and show it at the start of the TMA1 This should fall within the scope of the broad project topic and clearly identify the student’s chosen specific topic An example of a title of one sample TMA1 is: » Title: Electronic Students Registration System

Team Work - Kuwait Branch6 –(ii) Project aims: (9 Marks) (1) Consistency with part (b) and clarity of purpose (6 Marks) –Students must be consistent with the description in part (b) and very clear about what the project is to achieve (2) The project must deliver something tangible, and the student should be able to say clearly what that is (3 Marks) –For example: development of a software system, production of a database, etc…

Team Work - Kuwait Branch8 (b) Description of the project (40 marks) –For this part, consider the following: 1- Word Limit: Should be between 500 and 700 words (Marks deduction for exceeding word limit or not stating word count) 2- Consistency with guidelines and broad project topic (15 Marks)

Team Work - Kuwait Branch9 3- Appropriate and realistic project in both depth and extent (15 Marks) –The project description should: » indicate aspects, which the student can use to demonstrate an understanding of the related level-3 course in a practical context »be extendible, to include further content, or, »large projects should be focused only upon a particular area

Team Work - Kuwait Branch10 4. A clear and logical development of ideas (5 Marks) 5. Good grammar, punctuation and spelling (5 Marks)

Team Work - Kuwait Branch11 (c) Schedule for the project (5 marks) –The schedule should be well planned, and easy to follow. It should show that the student has: (1) Thought ahead and set realistic timescales (2) Clearly defined the stages, intermediate targets and milestones of the project (3) Built in some flexibility to allow for things not going to plan

Team Work - Kuwait Branch12 (d) Literature search and bibliography (15 marks) –(i) Preparing and planning the literature search (4Marks) –(ii) List of references (4Marks) Three to five references –(iii) Summary of one document and an evaluation of its usefulness (7Marks)

Team Work - Kuwait Branch13 (e) Equipment or software (5 marks) –(1) marks will be deducted if there is an equipment or software need indicated in part (b) but not discussed here –(2) Also marks will be deduced if the student is suggesting equipment or software which is clearly not necessary
