CONTAINMENT & US FOREIGN POLICY Truman Doctrine- based on happenings in Greece “Free people who are resisting… outside pressures” Basically protect against COMMUNISM Marshall Plan- US economic recovery packages to countries who wish to be “democratic” Soviet satellites wanted to join, Soviet Union threatens them.
