Each type of LED, driver or lens is different from each other. Changing one element has an impact on the performance of the complete system. The goal of the technical prescriptions of Synergrid is to assure that the material meets the quality requirements Therefore, all combinations of materials have to be tested Sometime it asks more tests than usual Sometimes, if the material is already tested for another luminaire, there is no need to test it again Need of the family concept Concept of family
4
In this document, the example of a luminaire “Lumeo” is given, with its 3 models “small”, “medium” and “maxi”. For a certification, you should carefully analyze how to determine the number of tests you have to carry out for your luminaire. It can be very different from the example Example of a family
5
Luminaire type “Lumeo” Example of a family Size: Small, Medium and Maxi Power: [20W…200W] Driving current: (350mA, 700 mA) Color temperature: (3000K,4000K) Photometry: (street wide, street narrow, places)
6
Luminaire characteristics: type, size, power, driving current, color temperature, photometry Example of a family Other characteristics of interests: Fixation Materials of the body and of the bowl Form of the body and of the bowl Weight Painting procedure Waterproofing method Electrical components
7
Goal: get the “lumeo” family on the Synergrid list Sometimes, you will have to make several tests for the same family: Example, for the vibration test: you will have to test 3 luminaires of the Lumeo family: small, medium and maxi Sometimes, you can use documents from other luminaires: Example, for the colorimetry: if the module installed in the luminaire is already accredited, there is no need to do the colorimetry again. Accreditation process
8
Goal: get the “lumeo” family on the Synergrid list If you decide to carry out the accelerated test only on the “lumeo” small, you won’t get the all family on the list. Only the “Lumeo” small will be present on the list. Accreditation process

Checklist
10
Checklist excel file After doing all the tests… Complete the excel file. There are 4 sheets to complete: Manuf info: for the basic information Driver Techn file: for all the tests and reports for drivers Lum Techn file: for all the tests and reports for luminaire Lumin Check: for all the things that have to be checked and that not concern the dossier (marking, …)
11
Checklist excel file After doing all the tests… Complete the excel sheet with: In the “Check” column: OK or not OK if you have done the test or written the statement In the “Document nr” column: write the name of the document you will send to us. The goal is to find it easily, so try to not pack all the document together. They should follow the order of the excel file In the “remark column”: write your remarks if any.
12
For the identification number of the test mentioned in this presentation Column A For information about the family for every tests columns j and k Accreditation process – the checklist file

Driver
14
3 kinds of documents Driver dossier 1.Declaration or document of the manufacturer 2.Testing report from a laboratory accepted by Synergrid 3.Testing report from a ISO 17025 laboratory
15
Driver: 1)Declaration of document of the manufacturer 1.1 general description of the driver The manufacturer will furnish a document where the type of driver used in the “Lumeo” family is mentioned, and where a general description is given. Idem for all the points from 1.1 to 1.14. Example for the thermal protection. The manufacturer will furnish a document where it is clearly stated how the thermal protection, if any, works in the driver(s) used in the “Lumeo” family. For the “Lumeo”, the thermal protection occurs when the tc point of the driver exceeds 75°C. The power goes immediately to 0W.
16
Driver: 2)Testing report from a laboratory accepted by Synergrid If several types of driver can be used in the “Lumeo” (example driver 1 [20W-50W] and driver 2 [50W-150W] ), all the tests have to be carried out separately for these drivers. Tests will be carried out with the LED module used in the “Lumeo” luminaire. Example: for the “Lumeo”, each module consumes 20W. If minimal and maximal power is asked, the following test shall be done: Driver 1 [20W…50W] : one test with 1 LED module 20W and 1 test with 2 LED modules (40W) Driver 2 [50W…150W]: one test with 3 LED modules (60W) and one test with 7 LED modules (140W)
17
Driver: 2)Testing report from a laboratory accepted by Synergrid 2.1 to 2.6 For every type of driver used in the “Lumeo”, carry out the test with: The maximal output power Tests will be carried out with the LED module used in the “Lumeo” luminaire. For the “Lumeo”, each module consumes 20W. The following test shall be done: Driver 1 [20W,50W] : test with 2 LED modules (40W) Driver 2 [50W,150W]: test with 7 LED modules (140W)
18
Driver: 3)Testing report from a ISO 17025 laboratory 3.1 to 3.6 For every type of driver used in the “Lumeo”, carry out the test with: The minimal and maximal output power Tests will be carried out with the LED module used in the “Lumeo” luminaire. For the “Lumeo”, each module consumes 20W. The following test shall be done: Driver 1 [20W,50W] : one test with 1 LED module 20W and 1 test with 2 LED modules (40W) Driver 2 [50W,150W]: one test with 3 LED modules (60W) and one test with 7 LED modules (140W)
