Roots Denotation: Letters used to form words. Groot says that roots can unlock the meaning of the whole word. He also says, “I am Groot.”

Origin of words Many of the words we use today originate from Greek and Latin roots.

Affixes Denotation: Letter or letters added to a base word or a root to create a new word. Two types of affixes: prefix and suffix prefix: affix that comes before the base word suffix: affix that comes after the base word
