Course 3 Lesson 88 Review of Proportional and Non- Proportional Relationships
3
Three important ideas about proportional relationships. 1. Proportional relationships involve two variables – such as the distance traveled and the time spent traveling. As one variable increases, the other increases by a constant factor k: y = kx. 2. In a table of values for the two variables, all pairs form equal ratios. The constant of proportionality can be found by k = y/x. 3. The graph is linear and aligns with the origin.
