INTRODUCTION In Ireland online marketing has become an essential part of business’s plans for marketing while ‘’One in five marketers currently spend 50% or more of their budgets online’’ (O’Toole, 2012) showing that business’s in Ireland are putting more time and money into their online communicating and marketing. This shows how the online marketing is the future of business marketing and communication. GROWTH OF ONLINE MARKETING Most Irish businesses are interacting online through social media websites with over 70% of Irish businesses having Facebook sites to 61% for Twitter and Link-In and 42% have their own YouTube channels showing social media is a huge part of marketing in the future with those number only increasing over time. While these social media sites such as Facebook is a great way to communicate with their customers as 51% of consumers go on social media to talk about the product/service for either praise, complaints, Enquiries or for seeking offers and promotions. MY SURVEY I made a survey about marketing online and people use of the internet, I asked the Questions of how often people would be connected to the internet on an average day, do they notice the online adverts and do they think they work, when's the last time they made a purchase online and if they felt that online marketing has taken a further step forward and has been improving. CONCLUSION Communicating and Marketing Online as a future prospect shows that the net has become a huge part of everyday lives and has huge opportunities for business that are looking to expand their target market. For Communicating and marketing strategies to work online the company must keep their E- business up-to-date and easy to use for all their target market. Companies that are in the internet development sector are doing very well as so many business are starting to set up their own business and use sites for PPC campaigns to promote their online site.
