4.1.2-2: Integrating new data viz. approaches into GEOSS We propose to build tools for quick, interactive data intercomparison – E.g. difference fields between models, satellite and in situ data – Calculated on the fly at user’s request – compliant with OpenGIS standards Apply these in quality control activities Probable focus on climate/ weather areas of GEO Link to GEOSS infrastructure

Current partners: – University of Reading, Assimila, ECMWF, ?ESA Our experience: – Using OpenGIS techniques to visualize EO data interactively Inc. extension of GIS to 4D data – Technology applied in previous EU framework projects MyOcean, GENESI-DR, ECOOP, MERSEA – Links with Open Geospatial Consortium – Managing EU projects We require partners with experience in: – Quality control procedures – Other applications besides climate/weather – Existing GEO portals
