3. 1 st meeting We shared our many problems about comparison method or measurement problems. For comparing model data with obs. –satellite case Which is better, 1 st order product or higher one? (satellite) Aerosol mass or AOT (which aerosol parameter?) Remote sensing has much uncertainty The product of remote sensing is vertically coarse Satellite can observe globally There are many assumption in retrievals –determined by ground based obs. –ground based measurement site case Which site is proper for comparison? Observation network problems –few observation –AERONET is good for comparison –There are a few measurement sites in not rich countries. –Some data are not opened

4. 2 nd meeting Not focusing on a specific topic, but we should share information of data used. Sharing information by BBS and e-mailing list after this workshop –BBS communication is needed to be continued. We shared information just in the meeting by showing data-center you use usually. We made a (tentative) list, –What data do we usually use for our research? –What data do we need to improve our research? –This will help us exchange our information.
