This Master’s program will help support my professional interests by enabling me to understand that technology has tremendous impact on communication throughout society, and that includes human services. Technology is used for locating resources and referrals, gathering and managing information, advocacy work, and networking.

What have you learned about assistive technology since beginning your Master’s program and what do you hope to learn from this course? Assistive technology includes many specialized devices as well, like typing telephones for people who are deaf and motorized wheelchairs for people who cannot walk which is used in many diverse classrooms.

How have you personally been impacted by technology within education, aside from attending an online institution? The Internet has enormous benefit professionally. There are a large number of websites for job searching and posting resumes. Working at home is possible with access to both the internet and place of employment. The Internet provides the opportunity to make various professional services known throughout a specific city, region, and country or throughout the globe. It has expanded the market for professional services as well as for providers of a huge selection of products.

What are your feelings about incorporating technology into the K–12 learning environment ? Because technology is both highly customizable and intrinsically motivating to students, it is particularly well-suited to expand the learning experience. I believe, technology has focused primarily on higher education and professional development, yet it suggests that specific uses of technology can improve K-12 student outcomes as well. Although the findings are general, and not necessarily specific to student-centered learning, they indicate that technology can equip teachers to assess an individual student’s strengths and needs.
