Enhanced civic engagement attitudes, skills and behaviors. Many leaders in public service today speak about how they were nurtured, inspired, and shaped in early experiences in community service or volunteering.

4. Blazer Build Help construct the roof of homes in Lowndes County. Helped place windows in new homes. Helped clean up the community.

5. Effects of participating in service learning had on myself Participating in the Blazer build showed me that we (Valdosta State football) are significant leaders in the community.

7. Building those homes for under privileged families really made me understand my role in the community and how much everyone looks to us for leadership and to set a prime example of how to act within society.
