7
What is an enquiry? What we would really like if possible are, for the period October 2010 to September 2011, the absolute numbers of residents for each of these three nationality groups – EU14, Republic of Ireland, Non-UK EU outside EU14 – for each of these four types of people: Children under 16 years Older people over 64 years Students Those aged 16-64 who are not students and not working

9
What is an enquiry? If you could also possibly provide the same breakdowns for the year 2003 that would be excellent.

What is an enquiry? If you could also possibly provide the same breakdowns for the year 2003 that would be excellent. We would also be very grateful for an age breakdown of the migration flows to and from the UK of the same three groups of foreign nationals in each calendar year 2005 – 2010 inclusive. The three age groups we are interested in are: under 16; 16-64; and over 64.

If you could also possibly provide us with the total net migration figures for the A8 and A8 + Malta and Cyprus in 2003, and A2 in 2006, that would be extremely helpful.

Questions we can’t answer How much money is paid in benefits to migrants? How much money is spent treating migrants on the NHS? How many illegal (irregular) migrants enter the UK each year?
26
Questions we can’t answer Student settlement rates … “… [T]he modelling approach suggests a relatively high proportion of the student inflow may remain in the UK at the two year point and thereafter, a result inconsistent with the analysis of visas recently published by the Home Office based on those arriving in 2004.” - Home Office Impact Assessment, Reform of the Points Based Student (PBS) Immigration System, June 2011, p.30
