Candidates May: Donate to charities or political parties Save the money for a future election However, These Rules Do Not Apply to Super PACS: There are no rules that stipulate how a super PAC money must spend its money, but after their candidates suspend their campaigns, they tend to: Return the money to its original donors Wrap up the failed campaign Donate money to a state-level candidate Jeb!: Right to Rise, the super PAC supporting Jeb Bush, spent almost $116 million and had at most $2.5 million unspent dollars when Bush suspended his campaign.
