HOME SECURITY USING WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK UNDER THE ESTEEMED GUIDANCE OF: P.RAMESH D.SIVOM(1210609153) KANMANI RAVI(1210609128) B.SAI RAJSEKHAR(1210609149) PUNIT KUMAR(1210609146) C.SUJITH REDDY(1210609113)

OBJECTIVE To construct an efficient security system that can monitor various parameters online, using the concepts of wireless sensor nodes and internet protocols. The basic aim of the project is to concentrate on the reliable data transfer during the wireless transmission, which is the basic drawback present in it.

The objective of this project is to provide home security using two methods : 1.Detection of intruder using PIR sensor 2.Intruder image is taken by camera and this information is wirelessly transmitted using zigbee protocol over the ethernet.

LPC 2148 Specification High Performance 32-bit ARM7TDMI-S™ CPU 512 KB Programmable Flash Memory provides minimum of 10,000 erase/write cycles and 10 years of data-retention. 32 KB + 8 KB Data Memory (SRAM) Provides 8KB of on-chip RAM accessible to USB by DMA USB 2.0 Full-speed compliant device controller with 2 KB of endpoint RAM. In-System Programming/In-Application Programming (ISP/IAP) via on-chip boot loader software. Single Flash sector or full chip erase in 400 ms and programming of 256 bytes in 1 ms. EmbeddedICE RT and Embedded Trace interfaces offer real-time debugging with the on-chip RealMonitor software and high-speed tracing of instruction execution. Two 10-bit ADCs provide a total of 14 analog inputs, with conversion times as low as 2.44 us per channel. Single 10-bit DAC provides variable analog output. Two 32-bit Timers/External event counters. Four Capture and four Compare channels. PWM unit with six output pins. Low power Real-time clock with independent power and dedicated 32 kHz clock input. Multiple serial interfaces including two UARTs, two Fast I2C (400 kbit/s), SPI™ and SSP with buffering and variable data length capabilities. Vectored interrupt controller with configurable priorities and vector addresses. Up to 45 of 5 V tolerant general purpose I/O pins. Up to nine edge or level sensitive external interrupt pins. On-chip integrated oscillator operates with external crystal in range of 1 MHz to 25 MHz Individual enable/disable of peripheral functions. Single power supply chip with Power-On Reset (POR) and Brown-Out Detection (BOD: CPU Operating Voltage range of 3.0 V to 3.6 V

WHY ZIGBEE/XBEE? Reliable Mesh networking Low data-rate applications Very long battery life Secure Scalable Low cost Global applicability The reason for promoting a new protocol as a standard is to afford interoperability between devices manufactured by different companies. Xbee is a brand of radio that supports a variety of communication protocols, including Zig-Bee, 802.15.4, and WiFi, among others. XBEE

Frequency: 2.4 GHz Power output: 2 - 50 mW Range: 40 m - 1.6 km Data rate: 250 Kbps XBEE PRO Series 2 (XBee) Supply voltage: 2.1 – 3.6 VDC Transmit current (@ 3.3 V): 35 mA (40 mA boost mode) Receive current (@ 3.3 V): 38 mA (40 mA boost mode) Power-down current: <1 uA (@ 25 °C) Indoor/Urban range : 133 ft (40 m) Outdoor/RF Line-of-Sight Range : 400 ft (120 m) SPECIFICATION

 There are 20 pins that can be configured either as digital inputs for sensing switches and other things that operate like switches, or as digital outputs for controlling LEDs and small motors directly. There are some pins that even act as Analog inputs and analog Outputs.  To configure the XBee radio for direct input, output, or both, you’ll use a set of AT commands that select each pin’s mode and the sample rate for sending the data.
