4 Introduction The “Add local electronic collection” allows the library to add a collection with A URL to a “Native Interface” of the collection An associated bibliographic record The Collection may Include portfolios Be published for discovery

8 Clicking the magnifying glass in the ‘Additional descriptive information’ field of the ‘Additional Information’ tab of the collection will open a repository search. Then the desired existing bibliographic record may be chosen. The local electronic collection

10 Here is the ‘General Information’ tab The local electronic collection A PO Line can be associated with the local electronic collection because “local electronic collection” is now a Purchase Order Type” The type can be “Selective Package”, “Aggregator Package” or “Database”

15 The ‘View It’ then appears with hyperlink as follows: The View It and the publishing This hyperlinks to the URL of the Electronic Collection The text of the hyperlink is a combination of the title of the associated bibliographic record and the name of the local electronic collection.

17 The next slide shows that when the bibliographic record which is associated with the collection is published the resulting xml (publishing file) will contain indications that it is associated with a collection. This will allow the collection to be ‘discoverable’ The View It and the publishing
