Being a good Corporate Parent Taking an active interest in the lives of children in care Councillor representation is required on fostering and adoption panels Official visitors are required for our 5 children’s homes We have a ‘virtual school’ for children in care The Corporate Parenting Board champions children in care ‘Brighter Futures’ gives a voice to children in care The Suffolk Promise sets out our commitment to service standards

Underpinning principles The child/young person is at the heart of everything we do Getting the best for our children is everyone’s business Focused on better outcomes for children, young people and their families Informed by local and community needs Shared responsibility and response to children young people and their families No wrong doors - it should not matter who notices the need, help should be offered quickly and seamlessly Common Assessment Framework (CAF) must be the underpinning primary access route for all children requiring integrated services
