4. Volume of a Pyramid  V= 1/3 Bh  The volume of a pyramid = 1/3 the volume of a prism.

5. Example 1 V= 1/3 (4 2 ) (9) V= 1/3 (144) Volume = 1/3 Bh V= 48 units 3 V= 1/3 (16) (9)

6. Example 2 V=1/3 Bh V= 1/3(1/2bh)H V=1/6(bh)H V=1/6(19)(17)(23) V=1238.2 cm 3

7. Volume of a Cone  The Volume= 1/3Bh or V= 1/3 (pi)(r 2 )(h)  The volume of a cone = 1/3 the volume of a cylinder.

8. Example 3  Find the Volume if the r= 3 cm and the h =8 cm V= 1/3 (pi) (r 2 ) (h) V=1/3 (pi ) (3 2 ) (8) V= 1/3 (pi) (9) (8) V= 1/3 (pi) (72) V= 75.4 cm 3

9. Example 4 12 40 degrees Find the radius Tan X= opp/ adj. Tan 40= 12/ X X= 12/ Tan 40 Radius(x) = 14.3 Find the Volume V= 1/3 (pi) (r 2 ) (h) V= 1/3 pi (14.3 2 ) (12) V= 2453.88(pi) (1/3) V= 2570 units 3
