District Overview –Largest high school district (7-12) in Calif. –42,000 students and 22,000 adult learners –30 school sites & 4 administrative facilities –4 million square feet of facilities. Sweetwater UHSD

Capital Facilities Funding Program 2007 - 2016 –Prop O ($644M) Bond Sale 1 - $180M $37M from a bond anticipation note (BAN) $96M from state funding, interest, and other sources. –Mello-Roos CFD funded projects $330M –Other projects $25M –TOTAL $668M –$484M expended on 10 major campus improvements and numerous smaller projects. –$184M remaining (including $147M for a new Middle School and a new High School) Sweetwater UHSD

Future Funding 2016 and beyond –Prop O Bond Sale 2 - $63M +/- Pricing this month Net proceeds after repaying the Bond Anticipation Note –$401M remaining bonding authority in Prop O –Additional fees from new development Sweetwater UHSD

Facilities Master Plan Update – –We have continued the process with additional community meetings and meetings with site staffs. –School sites and major projects have been prioritized and will be presented to the Board of Trustees on Monday March 14 th. –Projects may include: HVAC added to non-air-conditioned classrooms HVAC added to non-air-conditioned support spaces Artificial track & field projects (2 are DSA approved)

Sweetwater UHSD Facilities Master Plan Update – –Projects may include: Modernization of 3-10 campuses Continuation of current projects.

Sweetwater UHSD Construction Procurement Update –Design-Bid-Build –Transition away from Lease-Leaseback –Design-Build possibilities HVAC District-wide (including 3 large campus projects) New Middle School (1,500 students) New High School (2,400 students) –Prequalification Mandatory for all projects over $1,000,000 Mandatory for MEP sub-contrators by law –Demand Star for RFQ/P and bids http://purchasing.sweetwaterschools.org/demandstar/
