Agriculture Revolution Farmers found more ways to be efficient. New technologies were invented. Farmers were making more money. Life had become more easier. The population started to grow.

Jethro Tull The English inventor found that when soil was broken up or cultivated it helped plants grow. Jethro Tull invented a machine called the seed drill which could be pulled by horses. The seed drill planted seeds in a row much faster than hand This machine was invented in 1701.

Lord Townshend He found by growing four crops in rotation would help the crops grow much faster. He would grow Turnips one year, barley the second year, grasses the third year, and wheat the fourth year, and than repeating the cycle. Four times as much crops would be produced. Land no longer needed to be kept fallow for its nutrients to recover. He came up with this in the 18 th century.

New Breeds Many English landowners saw that better farm animals would bring higher profits. Eventually new breeds of cattle and sheep replaced the old, medieval types. These new breeds produced more meat and thicker wool. The new breeds did not catch any diseases as easily and were much more expensive than the old breed.

The industrial revolution was not violent id did not involve fighting. People started inventing machines that made life much easier. The industrial revolution led to lots of child labor and homelessness. The industrial revolution also led to lots of pollution. The wage for the workers were also very low
