2 Finding the Lab Materials Open the “Assignments” folder. Open the “Get Assignments” folder. Open the “Science” folder. Open the “Stanley Mullin” folder (not “Stan”). Open the “Geology” folder. Open the folder “0 3D Guide to the Galaxy”. Open the file “2 chart_galaxy_types”.

3 Comparison Chart This file is a comparison chart that compares like and unlike characteristics of the 3 main types of galaxies: 1.Spiral Galaxies 2.Elliptical Galaxies 3.Irregular Galaxies (The chart is shown in slightly smaller size on the next slide for convenience.)

5 Venn Diagram 1.Use the characteristics from the Comparison Chart to complete the 3-lobed Venn Diagram. 2.Place shared characteristics in the space where the circles of both galaxies that share that trait overlap (or where all 3 overlap in some cases). 3.Place unique characteristics in the circle segment that does not overlap for the one galaxy that shows that trait. (The Venn Diagram is shown on the next slide with one example of a unique trait and one example of a shared trait.)
