Chelsea Clinton wrote a book called “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!”
3
This book focuses on how you, as teachers and students, can make positive changes in your community.

5
In the spirit of this book, teachers were encouraged through a contest with Barnes & Noble to submit project ideas to improve their community.
6
We submitted a proposal to adopt a section of the desert to clean up. These pictures are of our adopted land off of Montana.
7
We would then wash, sort, and count all the items we collect and create artwork out of it.
8
Volunteers from local non-profits would be invited to assist with the cleanup and creation of the artwork.
9
Local artists and environmental services indivduals would give students workshops along the way to further their education.
10
After all artwork has been created, it will be a part of a traveling art exhibit that will be hosted by El Paso, Las Cruces & Juarez to better inform our region about recycling.
11
All artwork will be for sale. Any proceeds will go back to the local non-profits.
12
Great news- we submitted this project to Barnes & Noble and WON!!!
13
What does this mean? Chelsea Clinton will be coming to our school next week to do a kickoff event to raise awareness about our project. We will begin this project first thing next year.
