UiS mobile site – m.uis.no More than 5 % of the web visits came from smartphones and tablets autumn 2011 We wanted to give easy access to information about our studies, the university, admission & application, student life etc., customized for mobile devices One step further than creating a fancy app, which means downloading for the user and difficulties with maintenance and changing of content for the university

January 1-April 30 - 23 555 visits, 11 600 unique visitors, 80 300 pageviews July-August – July 1-August 8: 9 800 visits, 5 550 unique visitors, 34 250 pageviews – July 1-August 12: 11 700 visits, 6 230 unique visitors, 40 250 pageviews Total visits January 1-August 12: 45 000 visits, 19 880 unique visitors, 150 300 pageviews

UiS mobile site – m.uis.no m.uis.no gives us the opportunity to offer new students more accessible information than ever at their start of the studies: –A 19-year-old will never forget his/her mobile phone at home as they do with a brochure… For the first time the University of Stavanger has no brochure for new students

A jungle of channels and platforms Mobile first – still true, but for how long? How do we manage to create an integrated communication? Perhaps we have to ask ourselves more frequently the key question: What kind of information? For which target group? In which channel? Just to avoid «57 channels and nothin’ on»….
