1.  Fabrication of two trial vessels similar in shape & size as being considered for 650 MHz cavity is in progress at a Chennai based company.  A small diameter vessel has been fabricated in-house. Work on 650 MHz Helium Vessel Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology 21 Mar 2012

2. Plates: Titanium, Gr-2 as per ASTM B 265. Filler Metal: AWS A 5.16 ER Ti Gr-2 PQR, WPS and WPQ have been prepared as per ASME B&PV Code, Section IX. TIG welding being done without glove box with purging and trailing shield.

6. A 325 mm dia., 400 mm long cylindrical vessel has been fabricated with 6 mm thick Titanium Gr-2 plates. TIG welding is done in atmosphere (without glove box) using trailing shield and purging fixtures. Weld joints have been leak tested using Helium MSLD at sensitivity of 1 x 10 -10 mbar-liter per second and no leak was observed.
