INTRODUCTION Kalokagathia is a word which has a Greek origin. It is an ideal of human upbringing, popular in ancient Greece. This meant a combination of both external and internal features, especially physical efficiency, mind and character develompent. Basically, kalaokagatia conected beauty with goodness. You and your group members will try to tell how the ideal of kalokagathia has changed in our times and compare human upbringing now to ancient Greece.

TASK Your task is to make a comparison between kalokagathia (which is an ancient notion) and today’s way of development. To be equal to the task, you’ll need to search for some information about kalokagathia and also to gather information on nowadays’ education. Let us help you at the beginning. We’ve prepared a few steps for you (process) and we’re sure that if you follow them, one at a time, it will be a great help for you to complete the process without getting confused.process The result of your work will consist of three main things.

PROCESS - searching Research the information about kalokagathia: Where does this notion come from? What does it mean? Who has created the word and what is the meaning of it? When were they subcject to upbringing? Which sex was developmenting by kalokagathia - male or female? Which elements were included in this type of upbringing? What were the basic values of kalokagathia?

Look for information about today’s education and ways of people’s development: What is the age of children when they’re starting their school? What is the way of their learning? (manual, theory, etc.) What is the difference between male and female education? Is there anybody controlling the progress in student’s education? (you may (or even should) use your own information and thoughts here) searching

PROCESS – creating task requirements 1.Consensus Building & Persuasion: Your group is to be divided. part of them will prepare characteristic things of kalokagathia(group 1) and the others – of nowadays’ education(group 2). Try to persuade the another group that ‘your’ way of development is better. 2.Analitical & Judgment: Consider all aspects of ancient and today's education. Still in groups, prepare a table. Mark good and bad sides of both kinds of upbringing with: + or -. Then, try to tell which way is better for you. 3.Retelling with using an art Form: Make a poster with the summary of your work.
