3 News from Mrs. Fricks Scholarship Information Students who applied for local scholarships must bring a copy of your college acceptance letter(s) to Mrs. Fricks. Some donors are waiting for acceptance letter to make decisions concerning scholarship recipients.

6 Cap and Gown Delivery Delivered Wednesday, April 24, during lunch periods Navy Blue Gown White Collar (V- necked satin collar) Tassel Honor stoles will be awarded at Senior Awards Night. NHS members should see Mrs. Cathy Smith for NHS tassels.

7 EOCT Wednesday, May 1  Block 1 and Block 4 “EOCT” Passing the EOCT exempts the final exam in corresponding course if passing the class! Thursday, May 2  Block 2 and Block 3 “EOCT”

13 April 16 Graduation Practice Arrive at Granite Bowl at 6:00 P.M. DO NOT ARRIVE LATE! Check listing for row and seat assignment Sit in granite bowl stands per row/seat assignment Be attentive when given directions QUIET and ORDERLY ALLOWS FOR SHORT PRACTICE

14 MAY 17 Owed fees and “thank you” notes for scholarships due by 10:00 AM. Diplomas pulled if not cleared by 10:00 AM. Strict deadline!!!!!!!!! Arrive at Granite Bowl at 7:00 PM with appropriate dress Graduation begins at 8:00 PM Rain date – Saturday morning, 10 AM

15 Graduation Attire Ladies: Dress: ANY Color May want to check length with gown and not have it longer than gown No pants, shorts, leggings, etc. Men: Dress Pants: Black, Dark Brown, Navy Blue Dress Shirt: Any Color Tie…. NO Bow Ties

19 Announcement Etiquette  Mail announcements to family and friends two or three weeks prior to graduation. (May 1?)  Do not mail announcements to classmates and their family.  Do not mail announcements to the faculty / staff of ECCHS. * You may want to share a name card or photo with classmates’ families or teachers to acknowledge you are graduating. An announcement is not appropriate since they are aware of the time and place of graduation.

20 What to do with TWO envelopes? The outer envelope, with the gummed flap, is the mailing envelope. Hand address it legibly, using black or blue ink. Abbreviations in the mailing address should be avoided: Mr. John Smith Mr. And Mrs. Paul Jones 383 North Street39 West 18 th Street Louisville, Kentucky 55512Albany, New Jersey 77701

21 2 nd envelope? The inner envelope should bear the name of the addressee(s). This may be expressed informally as:  Aunt May and Uncle Bill, Demetrius and Leah  Mr. and Mrs. Johnson  Mary and Paul  Grandmother  Miss Lena

22 Mailing Instructions 1.Place the announcement in the inner envelope with the folded edge being inserted first, with the front of the announcement facing the flap. 2.Place the inside envelope facing toward the back of the outside envelope when inserting (should see writing) 3.Seal securely by moistening the gummed flap. Then, apply a foil envelope seal, if included with your order. 4.Send via first class mail.

23 Acknowledging Gifts A short note of thanks, written by hand, should go to all who have sent a gift. Acknowledge the gift as promptly as possible after its receipt.

25 Another Sample Dear Phyllis and Hank, I just wanted to thank you both again for coming to my graduation ceremony. It was great to have such a large group of family and friends to celebrate the occasion. Thank you also of course for the generous gift. I can certainly use that money right now. I truly appreciate it! You are too kind!
