Hormones Made Simple (Part 2) By Dr. Eric Berg DC
2
Gonads Make hormones that create female characteristics. Controls menstrual cycle Makes eggs Controls fertility Creates testosterone that gives male characteristics. Produces sperm Libido Bone and muscle influences Vitality
3
Estrogen Dominance

Cycle
5
High & Low Estrogen
6
Estrogen Therapy Side Effects Stroke (blood clots) Cancer (women who took estrogen are 4-7x more likely to develop cancer) Tumors Decrease Testosterone
8
Estrogen – Thyroid Connection
9
Thyroid Hormones Run on Iodine and selenium. The later mineral is involved in the conversion of T4 to T3. Iodine – sea kelp, sea food, cranberries, navy beans, potatoes, and strawberries. Selenium – Brazil nuts, oysters, tuna, sardines, eggs, spinach and sea kelp. Hypothyroidism causes hypogonads (low testosterone and low estrogen and progesterone)

Estrogen – Breast Tissue
11
Menopause
13
Insulin - Androgen Connection High levels of insulin increases ANDROGENS (interestingly…the ovaries have receptors for insulin). Too much insulin (Insulin Resistance) IS the SOLE cause of PCOS.

20
What is GMO? A GMO (genetically modified organism) is the result of a laboratory process where genes from the DNA of one species are extracted and artificially forced into the genes of an unrelated plant or animal. The foreign genes may come from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals or even humans.
21
Glyphosate The herbicide glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide globally, with a production of 620,000 tons in 2008. The world soybean production in 2011 was 251.5 million Metric tons, with the United States (33%), Brazil (29%), Argentina (19%), China (5%) and India (4%) as the main producing countries.
25
The study found that rats fed for two years with Monsanto’s glyphosate-resistant NK603 maize (corn) developed many more tumors and died earlier than controls http://www.scientifica merican.com/article/s tudy-linking- genetically-modified- corn-to-cancer/ http://www.scientifica merican.com/article/s tudy-linking- genetically-modified- corn-to-cancer/ Gilles-Eric Séralini

Monsanto Protection Act The "Monsanto Protection Act" effectively bars federal courts from being able to halt the sale or planting of controversial genetically modified (aka GMO) or genetically engineered (GE) seeds, no matter what health issues may arise concerning GMOs in the future.
31
Iodine – Hormone Connection Iodine decreases estrogen dominance! Iodine decreases insulin Iodine increases testosterone Iodine decrease risk for cancer (female organs and prostate). Iodine supports the thyroid, ovary, breast and uterus. US consumes 50% of what it did in the 70s. Decreases tumors, cysts on ovaries and fibrocystic breast. (Mercks Manual 1899 – iodine was the most popular treatment for tumors)
