3.  Colonists got their uniforms when George Washington ordered Caleb Gibbs to get blue uniforms for his personal guard. Those uniforms became the official uniforms of the entire army

4. British  The British wore red uniforms giving them their nicknames “Redcoats” and “Lobster Backs”  Most people think that the British only wore red uniforms, but there were also some blue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_A rmy_uniform
