7 5 th Grade Reading/Writing  Storytown Continued:  Schedule/Routine Let’s Take a Walk Through the Book!!!

8 5 th Grade Reading/Writing  Assessments:  For Each Lesson:  Oral Reads – Rate/Fluency/Accuracy  Comprehension  Use of the Focus Skill  Vocabulary  Grammar  Theme Tests (End of 5 Lessons)

9 5 th Grade Writing:  Writing Process & On Demand Writing  Storytown Materials:  2 traits per theme  1 form of writing for each lesson  Review Week – Students will Publish one of their writing pieces  Writing piece due each week  Except for the end of the month  Monthly Newsletter

10 5 th Grade Spelling  Wilson Reading Program  High Frequency Words  Storytown spelling words may be incorporated if/when it is appropriate  Schedule/Routine:  Day 1 – New Words are introduced & pre – tested; 1 st night of homework  Day 2 – 5 Work with words & pattern in class, students continue to complete their spelling grid at home (1 assignment nightly)  Day 6 – Spelling list is tested
