Analysis of total station data of IDL By- ABINASH SWAIN, NIT Rourkela Under the guidance of Prof. S Jayanthu, NIT Rourkela

Objectives To simulate Total station data into computer using various softwares To draw boundary of IDL To show contour lines of various readings To show bird’s eye view of the entire location To find out 3D outlook of the location Connecting observed points with google map

Data we have POINT v HR SD(m) N(m) E(m) Z(m) M7(reference)181° 56' 40''0° 0' 0''39.311.3340-39.987 R1177° 10' 30''290° 00' 01''42.1620.711-1.952-42.811 R2174° 16' 29''267° 12' 17''60.472-0.294-6.025-60.871 R3171° 41' 47''254° 54' 36''83.082-3.124-11.585-82.911 R4171° 58' 42''248° 26' 55''103.948-5.328-13.491-103.631 M6(reference)171° 29' 23''245° 48' 25''119.058-7.22-16.071-118.447 R5172° 18' 38''239° 59' 04''136.094-9.11-15.769-135.57 R6172° 16' 07''232° 13' 18''130.24-10.733-13.848-129.757 R7174° 26' 27''220° 04' 39''119.7658.818-7.47-119.901 R8175° 28' 49''223° 14' 33'’99.551-5.732-5.39-100.251 R9178° 13' 95''217° 41' 07''84.667-2.074-1.602-85.367 R10176° 59' 40''210° 35' 09''120.7-5.456-3.225-121.4 R11178° 13' 53''197° 34' 38''111.124-3.273-1.036-111.824 R12178° 56' 10''181° 48' 11''104.908-1.947-0.061-105.008 R13178° 00' 03''178° 31' 12''105.061-3.66-0.095-105.761 R14178° 38' 29'’164° 42' 26''106.204-2.430.664-106.304 R15179° 30' 50''154° 58' 02''106.998-0.8230.385-107.698 R16181° 18' 08''196° 25' 54''99.772-2.0780.903-100.472 R17181° 25' 02''170° 21' 04''84.93-2.0710.352-85.636 R18181° 10' 20''184° 31' 48''80.552-1.643-0.13-81.252 R19182° 02' 56''198° 07' 20''89.109-3.03-0.992-89.809 R20181° 52' 07''200° 15' 19''89.898-2.751-1.015-90.598

Softwares used 1- Esurvey CAD ( By Esurvey Softtech(India) Pvt Ltd.)- Trial version 2- Google Earth Plotter ( on Java Platform)

Esurvey CAD trial version Input- Easting, Northing and Elevation (x,y,z) of various points by Total Station. Output- 1-Plot of all points in 2D and 3D with options to series/short line joining. By joining points we can get the boundary of the entire survey. 2- Contour lines of all points (by taking elevations) 3- We have to add remarks (classes) of points. So that we can access particular class for any instance. There is option to add blocks and layers to various classes. Like drawings of hill for all hill points. 4- 3D plotting option is not available in the trial version. 5- Connecting with google map is possible by adding extension of Esurvey CAD with Auto CAD. Not possible with trial version.

To plot on google map with the readings from Total Station : We have to convert local co-ordinates to KML (keyhole markup language) Then we can use these data to relate our readings exactly with google map. For this we need a software called goole earth plotter (Java based)

Google Earth Plotter Converts local co-ordinates into google earth compatible KML co- ordinates. By conversion out field data can be imposed on google earth and vice- versa. Even 3D view of blocks can be done in google map by using Esurvey CAD software.
