15. Theseus was the son of Aegeus. Every year Aegeus, the king of Athens, had to send 14 young people to Minos for Minotaur’s food. Theseus decided to go to Crete as one of the 14 teenagers and kill Minotaur. He was wearing the sandals and keeping the sword of his father that he had found under a very heavy rock.

16. Ariadne, Minos’ daughter, helped him. Daedalus gave a ball of thread to her and she gave it to Theseus to get out of the maze when he kills Minotaur.

17. Theseus killed Minotaur. Minos was very angry with Daedalus. So Daedalus made wings with candle to fly away with his son Icarus. But Icarus flied too close to the sun and his wings were destroyed. Icarus fell down into the sea. Since then this point of sea was called Icarian sea.
