Christ Followers: Tell God how much you want to learn to pray from his lap. Ask him to help you pray. Seekers: Why not cry out to God now? Other Ideas for Prayer: Pray that God would give you a desire to pray. That He'd not only help you pray more, but WANT to, and enjoy it! Let your mind wander to someone who you really struggle to get along with. Pray for that person now. That God would draw them closer to Jesus. Pray also for your own heart, that God would help you see them through His eyes. Pray that God would show you a next step He's wanting you to take in your spiritual walk with Him. Pray that you'd have the courage to take it. Pray for our church during this transition season. Pray that God would lead us as we consider filling the lead pastor position. Pray that New Hope’s best days of Kingdom effectiveness in Manhattan (and beyond) would be to come. ``

1 The L ORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 2 S AMUEL 12:1-7 (ESV)

3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. 2 S AMUEL 12:1-7 (ESV)

4 Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.” 2 S AMUEL 12:1-7 (ESV)

5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the L ORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.” 7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man!” 2 S AMUEL 12:1-7 (ESV)

Against You, and You only, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words, and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, in sin did my mother conceive me. D AVID ’ S C ONFESSION P SALM 51

Behold, You delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I should be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. D AVID ’ S C ONFESSION P SALM 51

Let me hear joy and gladness of the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. D AVID ’ S C ONFESSION P SALM 51

Have accountability partners in your life. A CTION S TEPS : Take care, brother, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another everyday, as long as it is called today, that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. ― Hebrews 3:12-13 Take care, brother, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. E CCLESIASTES 4:9-12 (NASB)

11 Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. E CCLESIASTES 4:9-12 (NASV)
