Contacting the University Police If you call 911 anywhere in the county tell the dispatcher your approximate location and you will be transferred to the appropriate agency. Starting in 2016 the Texas State University Police, the San Marcos Police and the Hays County sheriff will become the first agencies in the nation to have an integrated county computer aided dispatch system

University Police-Services Krav Maga-Self Defense – Only Licensed training facility in the nation at a University – www.texasstatekravmaga.org – Offering training Basic Self Defense Focus Courses

University Police-Services Bobcat Bobbies – Safety escorts offered to groups of less then 3 (3 or more people considered a safe walking group) – Escorts offered between dusk and dawn – High demand service wait time may be high – Call 512-245-SAFE

University Police-Services Security Services – Conducts security checks on all buildings and residence halls on campus. – Conducts vehicle unlocks (non-powered locks) and vehicle jump starts after hours.

University Police-Services Crime Stoppers – University sponsored organization which provides rewards for tips on crimes Bicycle Registration – Bicycle registration program offered by the university, registration is currently voluntary

University Police-Services Found Property – Crime prevention division oversees found property on campus Alcohol Education – Certified Crime Prevention specialists provide training in Alcohol Education

University Police-Services Drug Education – Certified Crime Prevention specialists provide training in Drug Education Burglary and Theft Education – Crime Prevention division offers on campus vendor training in retail theft and burglary prevention along with commercial security surveys

University Police-Services Personal Safety – Crime prevention conducts personal safety training in the residence halls through out the semester Active Shooter/Violent Individual training – Crime prevention offers Active Shooter/Violent Individual training each semester and has several ALERRT instructors on staff.

Emergency Notification The following recourses are utilized during an emergency on or near campus. The University Police Administration is responsible for which resources will be initially utilized to notify the general public.
