6 Continue to make Ag Ed Important in your School and Community Involve Legislators in FFA Activities Guest Speakers in Classroom, FFA Meetings Attend Alumni Function – Important because Adults involved Invite to FFA Banquet We all Know the Importance of What We Do – Share it in a Subtle and Respectful way

7 Credentialing Ga. Ag Ed will offer a industry endorsed credential certificate based on meeting the minimum cut-score on FFA CDEs. DOE is only recognizing the End of Pathway Assessments for technical skill attainment, therefore, this credential does not meet that requirement.

8 Industry Certification Industry Certification Manual is on the gaaged.org website. Our goal is to have at least 10 programs certified in the Central Region.  Program Reviews All conducted in conjunction with Area Teachers Meetings in April Please keep an organized notebook to facilitate this process

9 Curriculum Update Ag Ed Cluster now consists of 34 Pathways Basic Ag Science Curriculum New standards are now approved and posted Can be taught in 8 th grade for high school credit Elementary Level Ag Awareness Lessons Posted on website Can be used to help earn CCRPI credits All other Ag Courses being revised and new standards to be approved later this year

10  Uniform Recordkeeping System  Official Georgia SAE Recordbook and AET will be accepted as documentation for standard #20

11  CTAERN changes for this year.  Area teachers will be offering several workshops throughout the year.

14 FFA Membership – Rosters open for 2013-14 use on September 1 – Rosters are accessed through the AgCareer Network – AgCN accounts (usernames and logins) available from Region Directors if you don’t have them already – New teacher – your account has been created. – Teacher who moved – your account has been transferred – Dues for 2013-14 are $11 ($4 state & $7 national) – Affiliation option is available (contact the state FFA office by September 1, to Affiliate) – Rosters and dues/Affiliation fees are due by October 15 – If you want FFA membership cards for your students, contact the state FFA Office

15  100% membership recognition  Designed to recognize teachers & programs who have 100% of the students in their AgEd classes on the FFA roster.  Individual teacher Enrollment Data forms will be used to determine 100% membership. In multi- teacher programs, for the program to be considered 100%, each teacher must have 100% of the students in their classes on the FFA roster.

21  Initiatives:  Continue to grow local and state membership  Continue to make our Young Farmer program the premier adult education program  Most Awards Due Oct. 1  Chapter Award, Chapter President, Spokesperson, Young Ag Leader, and Beginning Producer  Summer Tour  Seminole County  June 20-21

22  State 2013 Membership: 4,576  90% of Chapters had membership increase!  Continue to promote Junior Membership and Spousal discount.

24 Goal is to have every FFA Chapter supported by an Alumni Affiliate Alumni Development Conference in Conjunction with State Alumni Convention –Encourage 2 Delegates from each Affiliate to attend –Breakouts on important Alumni Topics Encourage Local Affiliate Participation in State Activities –Convention –Council –Awards

28  Students will NOT send in their Resume or Portfolio with their GHP Application  Interviews will include an assigned research topic review  Applied research  Public Policy  Agribusiness  Students need a strong SAEP. Preferable that student has filled out a proficiency application Governor’s Honors Program Changes

29  Go to the GHP Website and download the Description and Criteria  Nominate students based upon the requirements – Choose students who are highly motivated, show initiative and have outstanding SAEP’s Governor’s Honors Program What you can do
