Location 1 – Cedar Key Dune Sand Orsino Fine Sand Infiltration Rate High Hydraulic Cond. High Avail. Water 7.5 – Very Low SHWT 150cm Dwell w/ BaseSlight limit Septic Tank Mod. limit Roads and StreetSlight limit Position Upland PM Eolian/Marine Slope ~2% Runoff Very Slow Erosion Pot. Very Low Epipedon Ochric Order Entisol

Immokalee Fine Sand - Spodosol Poorly Drained – Heavy Rains Pine Scrub – Organic Acids Highly Reduced Environment, no concentrations Couldn’t get to a Bh horizon, if there was one.

Placid Sand - Inceptisol – Typic Humaquepts OR Sparr Fine Sand - Ultisol - Paleudults Both POOLY DRAINED Significantly more clay

Summary Sandy Soils Water can freely move through the profile Higher location w/o a limiting layer No Standing water Lower positions, saturated areas More clay in lower B horizons Depletions / Concentrations Gleyed Chroma
