TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Introduction « In my opinion, being connected is probably the most powerful influencer of innovation » from Immediacy, Accuracy, Innovation It’s required, by Scott MacFarland, Huffington Post, 3 June 2014 This introductory sentence illustrates the link between the information and communication activities and the core result of the project, namely to set up innovation strategies and to raise the awareness to innovation in the OCT's economies.
3
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Objectives of Digital platform Core element of the information and communication system. To fulfil: Promotion: project, OCTA; OCTs challenges and willingness; pilot projects. – Targets: all the stakeholders in OCTs / Tools: website, social networks and email alerts Knowledge sharing: monitoring of innovation-driven news, events, case studies, innovation strategies; development plans, guidelines, handbooks, e-learning tools. – Targets: innovation network (innovation managers and Advisory board), enterprises, educational institutions, public administration / Tools: curation system, website, social networks Collaboration and networking: exchange of views, discussions about experiences, approaches, linkage with other members, videoconferences, etc. – Targets: innovation network / Tools: social networks, private network and/or OCTA knowledge centre E-learning: Possibility to follow online-courses, with or without certification. – Targets: innovation network / Tools: OCTA knowledge centre

TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Issues and assumptions Volume of information –A large biodiversity of online sources but millions of Internet pages –Need for organising the Internet sourcing, monitoring and filtering E-access to information –a wide usage of smartphones, tablets but important variation of e- infrastructure in OCTs –Need to mix digital and human tools and adapt the platform Digital networking –Could be sensible especially within administration –Competition with other tools, time-consuming –Need to secure the access, need for easy access In conclusion need for defining together the added value of the platform to ensure that the targets will use it, and will collaborate
6
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Information monitoring Also called « curation system » Two objectives – Support us (IM and Octa innovation team) in collecting through the web, innovative practices and tools carried out in OCTs first and in neighboured countries, secondly – Fuel the platform, which provides targeted articles, easy to access : i.e. OCT hub for innovation Collaborative work, relying on few monitors (veilleurs)
7
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Technical organisation Based on: – Sourcing: 100 sites, blog, twitter, FB pages already selected for the pilot stage (10 OCTs). Permanent update. Participation of IM required – Automatic monitoring via RSS feeds, managed with Inoreader – Selection of relevant articles, and tagging before downloading into website. Already 90 articles. Collaborative work with a core group of IM – Possible editing within the website (not obligatory)

10
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Website (octa-innovation.eu) Structure of the content (pilot version) – Focus on OCTs – Territories : by region then by OCT; factsheet by OCT in relation to innovation. To be completed with IM – Innovation : for case studies (future). To be collected by IM and edited by OCTA team and IM – Topics : articles reporting innovation by main economic sectors – Networking : articles related to our network, and to cluster, innovation network or SME support agencies – Supporting tools : financial, fiscal, EU programme, event, call for project, incubator – Guidelines : OCTs Dev. strategy, methodological tool – Project news : activities carried out by the project

TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Key features Private collaboration area Rewarding contest Facebook presence Other social networks presence Newsletter management …
14
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Private collaboration area Many solutions available Most important questions are: – How we want to collaborate exactly? – What info we need to exchange? – What are our priorities among: File sharing, Collaboration, Projects, Organization, Personalization, Integration, Mobile, …

17
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Newsletter A Newsletter or a RSS feed? We need to define: – Who – What – Where – How Technology comes after and is only an enabler
18
TSI Project Funded by Implemented by Issues for discussion Balance between information monitoring and project publications Structuration and topics covered (missing/useless) Collaboration of IM in the content management (sourcing, selection, tagging, editing, writing) Facilitation of the content management Languages Illustrations Private network Ownership and on-the-job training Next steps
