2 DEFINING GREEN JOBS “ Green jobs are jobs in the primary industries of a green economy that promote environmental protection and energy independence.” [Green collar jobs are] “well-paid, career-track jobs that contribute directly to preserving or enhancing environmental quality.” Green jobs must either be in industries that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources, or must be jobs in which workers' duties involve making their establishment's production processes more environmentally friendly. 6 CHALLENGE PROCEDURES Read through the poster criteria Use internet resources to find information and relevant pictures Use your note sheet to write down needed information and cite sources used Caution: avoid plagiarism and copyright violations Collaborate with your teammates to create your poster Evaluate and analyze your poster using the grading rubric to make revisions Present your poster to the class Select a place in the school to display your group’s poster

8 GETTING STARTED…. Go to the AKCIS Website: https://akcis.org Login with your username and password Click on Occupations from the menu on the left

9 Next, select the tab labeled Clusters Index Locate your assigned cluster Click on your cluster and then click on the information about the cluster to get an overview of your assigned cluster and fill in your note sheet

10 Use the Icon Key to identify green and non-green jobs in your cluster Click on each of the jobs to find more information

11 Use additional web resources to find information and pictures for your poster. Note: Make sure that you cite your sources on both your note sheet and poster.

12 GREEN CONCLUSIONS Identify at least one new thing that you learned through this project.
