3. LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE Teacher(s): you may work with at most 3 in a group Date/Theme: your choice. Class/Time: choose the hour appropriate for you, take note that there is no snack during White 1 or 3.

4. LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE (CONT.) Essential Question/Know/Do:  EQ: has no one specific answer, what should teachers be thinking about while work with the students in this lesson?  Example: Holiday Lesson: What is the purpose of teaching about traditions?; Disney Lesson: How can popular characters increase knowledge retention?; Cooperation Lesson: Why is group learning essential for students early in development?  Know: Given your knowledge about children, what should your teachers know/learn about this lesson?  Example: The reason children benefit from routines.; why disruptive behavior should be addressed quickly.; how to speak to young children.  Do: What should teachers be demonstrating during this lesson?  Example: Identify what student performs well and praise them. Successfully give instructions for student to follow. Read a story with the student and identify main characters. Standards/Objectives: choose a standard for each social, literacy, and math from the list provided by highlighting your choice. What will you be doing in your lesson: check each common activity that you will be performing. Materials Needed: list everything that you will need.

5. AGENDA Applying the time you have chosen for your lesson, outline what the lesson looks like. This will be hung on the board during a real preschool day.

6. EXAMPLES Art: provide an example of what the students will be creating, a picture will suffice. Story/Reading/Song: list title, author, and brief description of book. Handouts/Activities: provide copy of worksheets or instructions.

7. ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT  Design a preschool facility.  Create/Draw a model of what you think a preschool facility should look like in detail.  In a 2-page paper, explain your choices.  This is an independent project, no partners.  Must include 3 sources in a works cited page (MLA Format)  Typed, 12 point, times new roman font.
