Reproduction Honey bees reproduce through eggs. The egg is laid and there is not even an estimate because the range is so big on how long it will take to hatch. After it hatches the larva is 1-1.5 millimeters long and only has a mouth. It is fed by the mother and father until able to work. Now that it works it can survive off pollen and small insects it will also produce honey, getting the name honey bee.
