SEAMEO RIHED’s AIMS Programme is a regional collaborative programme that provides a multilateral platform to promote and enhance mobility. Presently, there are 68 universities from Southeast Asia as well as Korea and Japan participating in the Programme. Supported by the ADB under the Strategic Framework and Action Plan for Human Resource Development in the GMS (2013-2017) ACTFAAcademic Credit Transfer Framework for Asia 2014: Action Research 2015: Kick-Off Meeting of ACTFA and GMS-UC Projects, in Vientiane, Lao PDR 2016: ACTFA Technical Workshops to support ACTFA implementation conducted in 5 GMS countries 2017: Forming National Credit Transfer Framework, Developing Manual, and Disseminating Framework

SEAMEO RIHED facilitated the establishment of the GMS-UC with 24 universities nominated by their respective governments (Cambodia, China (Yunnan Province and Guanxi Zhuang Autonomus Region), Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. GMS-UC Supported by ADB, the Consortium aims to build a regional platform to strengthen and accelerate cross-border collaboration among universities and address human resource development as well as promote the quality and excellence of higher education in the GMS. Greater Mekong Subregion University Consortium Key areas of collaboration include faculty exchange, university governance and social responsibility, credit transfer, information sharing, talent cultivation, QA and research collaboration.
