Welcome to country I would like to acknowledge the land we meet on today and pay respect to the traditional Custodians of this land the Ngunnawal People. To their elders past and present and the people that work and contribute to our local community. I also welcome any other indigenous peoples to this land.

What Early childhood Professionals have to say on how they deal with this in the class room. “I would explain that every one is different and that no one is the same not even white people we all look and act different.” “I would tell them that we are all the same on the inside we all have feelings and share the same emotions like when we see funny things we laugh and when we get hurt we all cry” “Let them know that it not nice, ask them how they would feel if people said mean things and didn’t want to play with them just because they were different.”

Remember what we need to teach our children is acceptance.
