Objective To engage in completing a Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) Training Test and analyze resources in order to: Understand the complexity of the assessment. Learn FSA vocabulary. Analyze the test specifications. Learn the percentages of standards covered on the assessment.

Work with a partner or team to complete the grade level and subject area test of your choice. Use the Quick Guide to Training Tests, Section 2, page 9 to locate test tools.

FSA Item Types After taking the test, use the Quick Guide to Training Tests, Section 2, pages 11-14 to identify the types of items you encountered in order to answer the following questions. How are the item types different than assessments you have used before? How is this more challenging than what students have experienced before? What support will students need? Identify item types and what the item will ask students to do.

Work independently or with a partner and choose one standard at the grade level and subject area of your choice. If you choose ELA K-12, please select RI or RL 4, 5, or 6. If you choose Elementary Mathematics, please select MAFS.5.NBT.1.1. If you choose Middle School Mathematics, please select MAFS.8.EE.3.8. If you choose High School Mathematics, please select Algebra II.

Test Item Specifications The purpose for analyzing the test item specifications for the standard is to determine: How is this standard accessed? How does the assessment of the standard align to our instructional framework? What are some barriers you anticipate?
