Libraries - provide essential community spaces, tools, and resources for 21st century learning Question one: Where is the Library on campus?? MVCC answer: The Utica Campus Library, (315) 792- 5408, is on the second floor of Payne Hall. The library entrance is accessible from the quad side of the building. The Rome Campus Library, (315) 334- 7728, is located in the Plumley Complex, PC127. Question two: Where is the Library online?? Librarians - are essential for development of learning skills and successful learning experiences Our goal at the MVCC Libraries is to link you to the information you need. In Person -- We are located on the 2nd floor of Payne Hall on the Utica Campus and in the Plumley Complex on the Rome Campus. Professional librarians are available at the Information Desk during all open hours. By IMBy IM --We have Instant Messenger at the professional librarian staffed reference desk at the Utica Campus Library. This is available during Utica Library open hours.open hours. By E-mailBy E-mail -- We will answer all email requests for research promptly, generally withing 24 hours. Equitable Access - is a key component for a successful society To provide materials in support of the College curricula or needed in the conduct of College business. To provide a balanced collection in all fields of knowledge. To provide a representative selection of materials on all subjects of interest to the College community, including materials on all aspects of controversial matters. No material shall be excluded from the collection because of the race or nationality of the author, or the political, moral, social, or religious views expressed therein. Reading- is a window to the world and a foundational skill for learning With more than 86,000 volumes and over 500 periodical titles, we offer a comprehensive collection to support the College's curricula. Technological Skills - are crucial for successful employment, learning, and communication Ethical Behavior - is essential in a global society Understanding the various electronic resources in order to access information. Awareness of the purpose of the library catalog and the electronic databases in the research process. Awareness that the college library subscribes to many of the same databases as the school system. “Giving credit where credit is due”; citing the content creator. Looking at the diversity of perspectives to gain a balanced viewpoint.
