The Written Case Study The following is the format suggested for the case study 1) Company Overview – Description of the Industry or market segment – Relative placement within the industry – Management Structure – Chief Competitors – etc 2) Marketing Challenges faced by company – If possible try to determine the research methodology used by the company to identify challenge – If possible try to determine the Marketing model used by the company 3) Response to market challenges – Technologies employed – Determination of relative success – Correlation of response with the marketing model employed 4) Evaluation of the company response using the Value Bubble model – Identify Value Bubble Components – Identify technologies used for each Components – Identify missed opportunities – Identify failed implementations 5) A discussion of how the Customerization model may or may not benefit company 6) A short (3-6) list of thought provoking questions that would help the reader of the case study understand the issues involved in the case study

Format and deliverables Deliverables for Case Study 1) An 8-20 page paper in Microsoft Word in the following format a) 12 point type face b) 1” right and left margins c) 1“ header and footers d) Sources properly documented via endnotes e) Double spaced 2) A 10 min in class discussion of the Case Study moderated by the case author with a power point presentation.

Quality Of Research High Quality Sources (good for analysis) – Annual reports – Prospectus – Peer reviewed Journals – Books Low Quality Sources (good for filler and facts) – Web pages No editorial oversight – Magazines Bias towards advertisers – Newspapers Often don't get the facts straight Some are better than others Wall Street Journal is the exception
