3 What is Conduit? Conduit is an online resource that facilitates information sharing, coordination, and collaboration among energy efficiency professionals in the Northwest. It’s a website. It’s a library. It’s a discussion forum. It’s a collaboration space. It’s a stakeholder communication tool.

6 Types of Resources
7
Resources Defined Discussion – pose a question, get feedback. Web Link – Point a member to a resource on another website. File – Conduit accepts ~50 file types including MS Office, Adobe Suite, most image, audio, and video formats. Document Collaboration happens here. Group – A home base for members with a common interest or project. Article – Share thoughts and opinions, include rich media, i.e. a blog post Event – promote a conference, webinar, workshop, or meeting 7

8 I have resources already on the web. How do I post them to Conduit?
9
9 If a resource lives on another 3 rd party site, (e.g. your company’s website), help your regional peers find it more quickly by creating a web link for it in Conduit. Conduit 3 rd party site
10
What is a Tag? Conduit relies on its users to categorize its resources so others can more easily find them. A tag is a user-generated word or phrase that describes an attribute of the resource. A resource can have more than one tag. 10
11
Profile page As a member, you get your own profile page, which helps build your network. Tip: Tell others about your interests, both work and non- work-related. Include a link to your linkedin page, blog, etc. Share your photo. 11
12
Permissions Resources can be public or private. You can select exactly who gets to see your resource. 12
13
Private/Public Process 13 Private Public Sub- committee Brainstorm Discussion Proposal to Decision Committee Final Paper Published Draft Proposal collaboration Draft Final Document
14
Document Collaboration Conduit allows documents to have multiple authors. These authors can then collaboratively create their work. 14
15
Public vs. Private Conduit allows users to choose how much visibility their resource should have. 15 Private Public

Groups Groups can be created to let users with a common interest or common project share information and collaborate. Like other resources, groups can be public or private. Groups have managers and members: Managers define membership and curate the group page; Members can view and post resources to the group page. 17
18
Following and Email Notifications For any resource you find on Conduit, you can follow it. Following allows you to receive email notifications when that resource changes (new comment posted, resource modified, etc). 18
19
Rating Any member can rate a resource on a 5- star scale, similar to how you rate movies on Netflix. Your rating then becomes part of the average rating that is then displayed next to the resource when browsing. 19

20 For those new to “Social Media” NEEA’s Conduit Guidelines for staff: “Our vision for Conduit is that it will better connect the region’s energy efficiency community to help accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient products, services and technologies, and to fill the energy efficiency pipeline.” “What Conduit should be: A venue for authentic, transparent, candid conversations about energy efficiency issues, programs and projects.” “What Conduit should NOT be: A one-way communication from NEEA to its stakeholders. Conduit is not Corporate Communications, it is for individual interactions. It is a site for collaboration around energy efficiency that is owned by users across the region.”
