School Bell 8.28 am (warning bell) then 8.30 am (start of school day) 10.33 am (warning bell) then 10.35 am to signify the end of morning interval and the start of Period 3 1.48 pm (warning bell) then 1.50 pm to signify the end of the lunchtime period and the start of Period 6 The ringing of the warning bell at the designated critical times in the day are to signify to students that they should be making their way to Registration or be moving towards their next period class. The period bell, 2 minutes later, signifies the start of the period lesson. The changes to the bell system will take effect from the change of timetable on 6 June 2016

NHS Lothian Vaccination Clinics During June 2016 HPV (Cervical Cancer) Vaccination for Girls in S1 – S6 If you missed your HPV vaccination at school there will be a second opportunity to have this. You will also receive a letter to invite you along for HPV if you have missed your vaccination. Remember: You need TWO doses of the MMR vaccine to fully protect yourself from measles, mumps and rubella. Lunch Room Passes Students who are permitted to use a classroom as a lunch room will be issued with a lunch room pass card by the relevant classroom teacher. Lunch room card passes will be operational with effect from Monday 6 June 2016.

John Lewis Partnership Level 2 Retail Apprenticeship Scheme John Lewis Partnership is currently advertising a Level 2 Apprenticeship vacancy in its Edinburgh store. The successful applicant will be expected to complete and pass a Level 2 Retail Apprenticeship programme within 18 months, by being part of a customer facing team. Learning will take place through a series of training modules and will cover the efficient and profitable operations of the Retail trade. Apprentice Storesperson Salary Range: £15,056 The Roslin Institute based on the University of Edinburgh Easter Bush Campus (EH25 9RG) is seeking applicants for a Scottish Modern apprenticeship in its Purchasing & Stores department. As part of a small team, applicants should have an enthusiasm and willingness to learn while also assisting with the day to day operations of the department. SVQ Level 2 Warehousing and Storage (SCQF Level 5), this qualification is a work based course designed to equip apprentices with the basic skills and knowledge in warehousing and storage. A range of topics will be covered during the apprenticeship including developing effective relationships with colleagues and customers in a service environment and maintaining health and safety in logistics operations. This opportunity will also provide a sound grounding in the principles of stock management, goods receipt and stock issuing and replenishment as well as all associated processes supporting the activities of a research institute.
