3. There is a boy named Nick. One day it was time for school. Nick said goodbye to his cat Mittens. He got on the bus with his friend Evan. They got off the bus and the bell rang.

4. They had book buddies that day. Nick’s book buddy is Evan. Nick read the book, Star Wars. Evan likes Star Wars.

5. Nick’s friend said that Star Wars was silly. But Nick and Evan did not care. They kept reading the Star Wars book. Back at Nick’s house Mittens was reading a book, called Super Mittens, that he wrote himself.

6. Mittens drew Nick and Mittens in his book. Back at school the bell rang. When Nick got home he found Mittens’ book on the floor. He read Mittens’ book and said, “Your book is great.”

7. He told his mom that his kitten wrote a book. His mom did not think it was true. Nick showed her the book. She said she was sorry.

8. Nick showed the book to Evan. He liked the book. He showed it to his teacher. The teacher said it needed drawings. So he drew Evan.

9. Nick drew a happy dog, a man in bed that can’t sleep and an elephant eating a peanut butter sandwich with milk.

10. Then he drew his book buddy Evan Perham. Then he hid the book so no one could find it. Then he showed it to Evan. Nick gave it to the library so everyone can read it.

11. The author, Lea O'Connor, was born April 28, 1998. Lea is 12. He has many friends. He has 1 cat named Sparky. He likes to play his GameCube. Six of his friends are Dominick Rennahan, Allen Mayo, Conner Macintosh Ashley DesChamp, Derrick Thornton, and Glen McCann
