IEEE Central Texas Section 2016 Workshop (tentative) One-half day Target date 9/17 (Saturday) Possible topics: The Rise of Machines – impact on careers and consulting Using networking and the web to find clients and funding, form a team, manage a team, market, and sell. Qualities for lifetime employment: credibility, influence, created value Looking for speakers and chapter partners

IEEE Central Texas Section SWOT Analysis Strength – Good team work & network to recruit speakers. Weakness – Not attracting enough new members. Opportunity – Host joint events with other groups. Threat – Staying relevant as local technical employment conditions improve and CTCN membership ages.

IEEE Central Texas Section Chapter Plans / Issues Mix topics at monthly meetings to cover professional development, training, and technical topics. Co-host/support workshop with chapters sharing same interest. Attract younger members with current and relevant topics and speakers. Improve return rate for first time attendees. Improve website, and switch to WordPress
