2  Develop SMART Goal aligned to your building’s School Improvement Plan.  Goals should be single year goals with benchmarks throughout the year

3  Review and evaluate your school or dept. data (DRA, DRP, Grades, MAP, Common assessments, etc..) with appropriate people

4  Consider your most important achievement needs and write a goal that will address the need.

5  Each goal must meet the criteria for a SMART goal  Specific  Measurable  Attainable  Results-oriented  Time Bound

6 o Complete the PLC Team SMART Goal form. The form can be found under staff documents or on the H drive under All Schools and then School Improvement.  Include formative and summative measures for achieving the goals  Develop Action Steps  Designate who is responsible  Include the timeline for completing each step

7 Not SMART GoalsSMART Goal  Develop and implement common assessments in the area of writing.  Increase the use of cooperative learning activities in our reading classrooms by 25%  Current Reality-Last year, 85% of 3 rd graders met or exceeded the target score of 3 on our district’s writing prompt in May.  SMART Goal-This year, at least 90% of 3 rd graders will meet or exceed the target score of 3 on our district’s writing prompt in May.

8  Teams should have their SMART goal templates completed and given to building principal by Oct. 5.

9  Each PLC Team should monitor progress on SMART goal throughout the year.
